Athletics Canada announced hosts for the upcoming Canadian championships, and Langley is among them.

The cities of Langley, Montreal, Ottawa, Saint John, Toronto, and Winnipeg will all play host to an Athletics Canada Canadian championship series event in the upcoming years – Langley expected to play host to the track and field championships in 2021 (the world trials) as well as 2022.

The Athletics Canada’s competitions committee made the hosting recommendations, and that was approved during the annual general meeting held in Ottawa earlier this month.

“ Langley is thrilled to be hosting the Canadian track and field championships with the Langley Mustangs Track and Field Club,” said Townshipof Langley Mayor Jack Froese.

“Langley Township is known as a sports destination with a reputation for providing exceptional recreation facilities, accommodation, and support services. Our many enthusiastic volunteers and fans look forward to experiencing the excitement of these prestigious Championships and cheering on the athletes taking part locally and from across the nation.”
