Gators top Langley medal count at track championships

Langley hosted the annual provincial high school competition last week.

Langley hosted the B.C. High School Track and Field Championships from May 31 to June 2.

Athletes challenged each other, and were also challenged by windy conditions on Friday at the McLeod Athletic Park. At some points during the second day of competition, pole vaulting was briefly delayed because wind was knocking the bar off its perch.

Brookswood’s Dominique Ronse took second in the junior women’s long jump.

Langley Christian had some good finishes, including a first in the junior women’s 800 metre run and a third in the junior women’s 400 metre run by Brooke Mussche. The school’s Jordan Dickhof topped the men’s Grade 8 javelin finals.
