District 3 tournament on now at Walnut Grove Park

A District 3 baseball champion will be crowned at Walnut Grove Park this coming Sunday, July 13.

Walnut Grove is the site of the District 3 Little League tournament for 11/12 Majors teams this week.

All-star teams involved include Langley, Whalley, Coquitlam, and White Rock.

Opening ceremonies were held this past Sunday, July 6, and all four teams were in action that day.

Langley faced Coquitlam late Monday afternoon.

The schedule from July 8-13 is as follows:

• Tuesday, July 8: Whalley vs. White Rock, 5:30 p.m.

• Wednesday, July 9: Langley vs. White Rock, 5:30 p.m.

• Thursday, July 10: Whalley vs. Coquitlam, 5:30 p.m.

• Saturday, July 12: 1 vs. 4 starting at noon, 2 vs. 3 starting at 3 p.m.

• Sunday, July 13: championship game starting at noon.

It’s the first of two high-profile baseball tournaments involving 11/12 Majors teams at Walnut Grove Park.

North Langley Baseball is the host team of the provincial tournament that gets started on Saturday, July 19, with the title game being played Sunday, July 27.
