With all of the rights and freedoms of Canadian citizenship being eroded by the “Harper Government,†now they wish to have legislation in place to monitor anyone’s online activities, without the requirement of a warrant and without any oversight whatsoever.
That would make anyone with an internet connection vulnerable to the misuse and abuse of the new level of “guilty until proven innocent†laws in Canada.
The “you’re with us or with the pedophiles†rhetoric is strictly from the American Republican playbook of dirty tricks, under fear mongering.
By pushing this legislation along with the new loosey-goosey definition of terrorist (someone who is mentally ill or who commits a hit-and-run), we are all at risk of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time and ending up on a government watch list.
When Mr. Harper was sworn in as Prime Minister he said, “You won’t recognize Canada when I’m through.†He’s not done yet, and already, I don’t recognize it now.
I encourage Canadians to learn more about how we can work together to safeguard our privacy at OurPrivacy.ca.
