Letters: Euthanasia road to problems

Dear Editor,

Quebec is following the Belgium model, in which 32 per cent of all deaths of euthanasia and assisted suicide are done without request and 47 per cent of all deaths of euthanasia and assisted suicide go unreported.

Nurses are prohibited from doing euthanasia – but are euthanizing their patients. Once you legalize euthanasia and assisted suicide, there are no safeguards.

They are also euthanizing people who have mental illness and children who have disabilities.

We need better palliative care, not euthanasia.
