Make room for all bikes
John Howard suggests that bike paths need not be planned for commuters, but only for recreational users [Bike paths require better planning, April 9 Letters, Langley Advance].
While I applaud his suggestions to have more recreational bike paths – Campbell Valley, perhaps? – I don’t agree that those who cycle to work need to pay the price with unsafe bike lanes.
In order to help ease the traffic problems, I suggest every street be made one-way, giving the extra lane to cyclists.
I mean, really, just because you can bully me with your box of steel on wheels doesn’t mean you have the right to do so.
There you go, the planning is done. Now just do it!
