Memorial balloons in various shades of blue line have been fastened along a wooden fence next to Richard Bulpitt Elementary in Willoughby, as the community comes together to mourn the death of a four-year-old boy.
A Langley RCMP investigation is underway after the child fell from the window of a townhome at the 20900 block of 77A Ave. Thursday afternoon and later died.
Police said they attended a residence in the Willoughby area around 3 p.m. after the incident was reported. The child was not home alone at the time.
The child was transported to hospital and died shortly after 4 p.m.
Langley RCMP victim services attended the residence to assist the family. Although the serious crime section will assume conduct of the investigation, there is nothing suspicious at this time, RCMP said.
