A local family is facing a major expense after thieves stole their wheelchair lift-equipped van from the Carvolth transit exchange on Jan. 2.
The 1998 Plymough Grand Voyager had been parked in the lot at about 7:30 a.m.
When the owner returned at 5:30 p.m., the van was gone.
The van had been modified with a ramp to allow wheelchair access for the father of the family, noted Cpl. Holly Marks, spokesperson for the Langley RCMP.
Modifications like this are expensive, and the family estimates it will cost more than $5,000 to replace in another vehicle.
Also lost along with the van were two children’s car seats and a double stroller.
The van’s license plate is 125 TEV.
Anyone who has seen the white Plymouth Voyager, or who has information that can help find the van or the thieves, should call the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.
