As part of National Addictions Awareness Week Nov. 13 to 19, Fraser Health, Sources, the Centre for Education Research and Development at UC Berkeley and Portland, Oregon (CERD) have created a public ‘salon’ forum.
It takes place on Friday, Nov. 18 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Coast Hotel and Convention Centre ballroom.
This event will feature experts who will speak to the overdose crisis from a psycho-social lens and invite audience participation.
Dr. Joel Brown is one of those taking part. He has worked in drug education, treatment, evaluation and research for over 30 years, and was one of the first service professionals who spoke out against the War on Drugs in the United States.
Another expert, Glen Grigg, has been a clinical therapist for more than 25 years, and is a professor and researcher.
No registration required and admission is free, but seating is first come, first serve.
