Langley man arrested for hit and run

A 31-year-old Langley man is facing charges after he allegedly rear-ended a car in Surrey, sending three women to hospital, and then fled the scene.

Surrey RCMP say the incident happened shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday at Fraser and 170th Street. Witnesses told police a white Dodge rear-ended a Nissan Sentra.

The Nissan went over the median and smashed into a black truck.

The passengers in the truck were okay but the Jaws of Life were required to remove the women from the Nissan.

The three women were taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Surrey RCMP allege the driver of the Dodge fled the scene. He was later arrested in Langley and is now facing charges of dangerous driving and failing to remain at the scene.

Police continue to investigate and believe intoxication may be a factor in the crash.
