Langley, get into the PNE free this weekend

Admission to the PNE will be free on Saturday and Sunday, provided you arrive before 1 p.m.

Mike McDaniel, president and CEO of the Pacific National Exhibition, said they made the decision due to a poor weather forecast, predicting showers both days.

"We can’t control the weather, but given the incredibly successful Fair so far, we don’t want the rain to keep people away," McDaniel said in a release.

Of those who visit the PNE each year, approximately 30 per cent do so on the final weekend, McDaniel said.

This is the first time in the Fair’s 104 year history that the PNE has offered free gate admission on the Labour Day weekend.

In addition to the rides, games and food stands outdoors, there is more than 500,000 square feet of indoor space at the PNE. Indoor exhibits include Game of Thrones, the PNE Prize Home Lottery, YVR Fly Dome: A 360° Global Travel Experience, the Pacific Spirit Horse Show and the Kidz Discovery Farm.
