Five people involved in a serious two-car crash on the Langley/Surrey border Friday night escaped with non-life threatening injuries.
Surrey RCMP and emergency crews responded to the accident that saw people trapped inside one of the vehicles in the 18900 block of 80th Avenue at roughly 9:20 p.m.
Several 911 calls reported a collision involving a Mercedes and Dodge Caravan, in which the Caravan had rolled over, and two people, an adult and a young child, were trapped inside.
The Jaws of life were used to free the two from the Caravan.
In total, five people were taken to hospital, and all were reported as stable, with non-life threatening injuries.
RCMP officers were on the scene for some time as the investigation continued.
As a result, 80th Avenue was closed to all traffic between 188th and 190th Streets.
