A replica fur trade boat will be named for the late Fort Langley volunteer and gallery owner Brenda Alberts.

The Bedford Rowing Society had decided to name its York boat, built in cooperation with the Fort Langley National Historic Site, after Alberts.

Brenda and her husband Kurt Alberts provided support to the Bedford Rowing Society over the years, said president Barry Dashner.

The boat will be named the Brenda A at a Saturday, Dec. 3 ceremony to be held at 10:30 a.m. near the Marina Park boat launch in Fort Langley.
