Aldergrove fair offered fun for all ages

Aldergrove Fair Days celebrated its 103rd year on the July 18 weekend.

A brief yet enjoyable Saturday morning parade along Fraser Highway was a feature of Aldergrove Fair Days, which celebrated its 103rd year July 17 to 19.

Parade-goers, mostly parents with young children, lined the route that saw entries travel from west to east through downtown Aldergrove.

After the parade, the fun continued at Aldergrove Athletic Park next to Aldergrove Community Secondary School with 16 different food vendors on site, displays, food, midway rides, antique tractor and lawn tractor pulls, and the unmistakable gun blasts from sharpshooters involved in the World Open Index Championships, sanctioned by the World Fast Draw Association.

It was a full weekend with a Friday evening car show at Aldergrove Community Secondary, festivities continuing until 10 p.m. Saturday, and the final day of fair days 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
