A man approaching girls near R.E. Mountain Secondary has the RCMP warning people about safety.
He has reportedly offered rides to students and offered his phone number.
“At this point nothing has been reported as ‘criminal’ in his behaviour,” explained Langley RCMP Cpl. Holly Largy.
Investigators believe they have identified the male, however to date, he has not been located and interviewed.
Largy said he is described as East Indian, about 21 years old, approximately 5’11” and 160 lbs. He is well-kept and well-dressed and well spoken, and is close/clean shaven. He was seen driving a newer white SUV. Having said that, he may be driving vehicles the police are not aware of.
“The students did not agree and the interaction ended there,” Largy said. He was seen driving a newer white SUV. Having said that, he may be driving vehicles the police are not aware of.
Students walking to or from school are reminded to walk with friends when possible and be aware of their surroundings.
“Avoid wearing headphones that may hinder your ability to hear approaching vehicles or people,” she added. “Although it may sound ‘old-school’ – don’t talk to strangers. If you are approached by someone unknown to you, keep moving towards a well populated area. Always, report the incident to police.”
