Langley City firefighters donated to the Lower Fraser Valley Aboriginal Society.

Langley firefighters in the Christmas spirit

Firefighters across the community are donating to charity or giving Santa some help.

Langley firefighters are taking part in a number of events around the community as Christmas approaches.

On Dec. 23, paid-call firefighters from Hall 6 in Murrayville will help Santa Claus hand out candy canes, and collect donations for the Langley Food Bank, in the area around the hall.

They will travel a route that includes both sides of Fraser Highway, starting at 10 a.m., and will begin by singing Christmas songs and heading down 223rd Street.

Donations of non-perishable food items will be accepted.

Firefighters and Santa were also out on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Brookswood around 200th Street and 44th Avenue.

And earlier this week, the Langley City On Call Firefighter Association presented a cheque for $1,500 to the Lower Fraser Valley Aboriginal Society.
