PJ collections slated for several Langley spots

The fifth annual Jammie Drive collects PJs that are given out by the Langley Christmas Bureau.

MaryLou Robertson is amazed at the support of the community for what started as a small effort to help some kids.

She’s a big fan of kids having something cozy to sleep in at Christmas and started the Jammie Drive five years ago. It’s a sentiment that has the community has warmed up to each year. Support continues to grow.

“All pajamas go to Langley Christmas Bureau who are overwhelmed with generosity of Langley community and providing pajamas to families,” Robertson explained.

The Jammie Drive elves will be at the Langley Wal-Mart on Sunday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There’s also the Giants Pajama Party on Dec. 5. (Read more about the Giants event)

And the Langley Rivermen help the campaign score with a pajama collection at the Friday, Dec. 8 game at the George Preston Recreation Centre.

“This is the third year for the Rivermen and the second year for Giants,” she said.

Another option is to drop off new, unwrapped PJs at the Langley RCMP detachment in Murrayville, Robertson noted.
