Green thumbs help Langley’s cats

CARES benefited as close to $4,000 was raised from a plant sale at the Langley PetSmart.

Plant lovers who also care about felines came out in droves to a fundraiser in Langley earlier this month.

On May 6 and 7, a fundraising plant sale was held in front of PetSmart on the Langley Bypass.

The event raised close to $4,000 for Canadian Animal Rescue & Extended Shelter (CARES), explained Caroll Giesbrecht, a CARES volunteering for the past nine years who helping out during the event and donated more than half of the perennials from her own Cloverdale gardens.

CARES is expected to be back at PetSmart later this month selling raffle tickets that include an Okanagan trip, $500 cash, and Galaxy tablet.
