The deadline is swiftly approaching to nominate the person or group that has done the most for the environment in Langley this year.
The Langley Environmental Hero Award contest is accepting nominations until May 10.
Run since 2006, it recognizes efforts by individuals, non-profits, or businesses to make the environment better around the community.
To nominate someone, briefly describe the activities of the person or group, telling the judges why they are worthy of being called an environmental hero.
The selection is made both by a nomination committee and with an online voting process, to allow public participation.
The nominee committee includes Gerry Borden of the Fort Langley National Historic Site, members of the Langley Environmental Partners Society, and Langley MP Mark Warawa.
Nominations can be sent to Lina Azeez at lazeez@tol.ca, or faxed to 604-534-6593 or dropped off at 4839 221st St. in Murrayville.
