The Langley RCMP have recovered a stolen utility truck that was used in a crime spree around Langley in recent weeks.
On Aug. 12, someone stole a bucket truck, the type used for tree trimming or accessing
power poles, from a business in the 19800 block of Fraser Highway, said Cpl. Holly Marks of the Langley RCMP.
Police heard of the truck next on Aug. 15, when it was seen being used to steal about 100 feet of copper wire in the Milner area. The wire was worth only $500, according to police.
Since then, the same truck has been caught on security camera footage being used during break and enters into secure compounds.
"It was used in a number of other crimes in the Langley area," said Marks.
On Aug. 30, the truck was recovered in the back of a lot in the 19800 block of 56th Avenue, not far from where it had originally been stolen.
Police did not locate the driver. The vehicle has been turned over to forensic specialists for fingerprints, DNA or other evidence to identify the thief.
