Dear Editor,

David J. Standcumbe's assertion that people who are trying to battle global warming or just trying to help reduce pollution will have no effect [Tree hugs useless but nice, May 29 Letters, Langley Advance] is patently false. Science proves the opposite.

As for making us poorer? Wrong again.

It's naysayers like David who are making things worse for everyone, not better. His kind thinks if we can only make things a little better, why bother? And that's asinine.
