Tournament sees wins and losses for Langley

Brookswood’s senior girls dominated in their first match.

Brookswood’s AAA girls basketball team moved on from their first match in the BC Secondary School Girls Championships being held this week at the LEC.

The Bobcats defeated Saanich’s Claremont 79-55.

Also moving on from the opening day of play are Kelowna, Abbotsford, Argyle, Surrey’s Panorama Ridge, Vancouver’s Lord Tweedsmuir, and Oak Bay.

In AA play, Langley Christian defeated St. Michaels 61-33 to move to the next round.

Brookswood suffered a defeat in junior girls play, taking a 68-59 loss to Little Flower Academy, and Langley Christian didn’t fare any better against Seycove, losing 46-26.

The tournament runs to March 1.
