It was full steam ahead for Langley's U15 girl's lacrosse team on Saturday.

Langley found its foot hold early in the game, taking New Westminster by surprise.

It took just two minutes for Alexandra Potter to show New West which way the game was going to go, as she ran through the midfield and onto the goal in the blink of an eye.

New West responded well with an onslaught of goals, until Langley's Shaelyn Ogilivie muscled her way through three defenders before putting her first away, opening the floodgates for Langley.

Goals came quick and fast from Shannon Walker, Charlie Jones, and Melaina Ristich.

And then, what has to be the goal of the match came from deep in Langley's defence, as Melissa Flint scooped a loose ball and took flight. New West threw everything they had at her, but to no avail.

Flint made it look like a walk in the park as she buried her shot past the New Westminster keeper.

Second half was all Langley's, despite New West's attempts to get back in the game.

Ogilivie was again in the thick of it, powering over New West's already battered and bruised defence to put two more goals under her belt.

Jaylene Soegard put two more away, and did it with flare. Switching hands as she went, she effectively confused the New West defenders.

Then Langley's Hannah Ferguson came from nowhere, flashed through midfield, and finished the game for a 13-8 tally in Langley's favour.
