Top show jumping teams begin new season

The equestrian world will be focusing on Langley over the next couple of weeks, as Thunderbird Show Park kicks off this year's equestrian season with its Canadian Premier Grand Prix.

Thunderbird's season-opening weekend begins with the $10,000 Open Welcome Classic on Friday, May 25.

The show park at 72nd Avenue and 248th Street will once again attract some of Canada's top show jumper horse-and-rider teams on Sunday, May 27, to vie for the $25,000 purse offered in the Canadian Grand Prix.

The following weekend begins early, on Thursday, May 31, with the $32,000 CS12* Thunderbird Spring Classic.

Next up is the Mibroc World Cup on Saturday, June 2, with $53,000 on the line.

And the weekend finally winds down with the $5,000 Langley School Foundation Mini Prix on Sunday, June 3.
