Aldergrove Kodiaks assistant captain Kyle Bosko notched three points for a hat trick against the Port Moody Panthers Saturday night but it wasn’t enough to declaw the Cats, who took a 4-3 win.

The first period was scoreless and it was a 2-0 lead for the Panthers after the second period.

Kodiak Bosko finally scored on a power play early in the third period, with assists from Clayton Schroeder and Arjan Cheema, but the Panthers scored their third goal two minutes later.

Kodiaks Bosko and Matt Oliver responded with a pair soon after to make it a tie game, with help from Dawson Stone, Schroeder and Bosko. The tie was held for almost ten minutes before the Panthers scored the winner at 17:38 of the third.

Bosko earned the game’s second star for his efforts. The Kodiaks had 35 shots on goal to 33 for the Panthers, and the Panthers failed to score on four power plays while the Kodiaks scored on one of two.

The Kodiaks host the Abbotsford Pilots on Wednesday, Sep. 13 and the Ridge Meadows Flames on Sept. 20. Both games at Aldergrove Arena, start at 7:15 p.m.
