Langley Olympians bring home medals

The club came sixth overall at the recent meet in Victoria.

Langley Olympians topped the podium in multiple categories at the 2017 Swim BC Short Course AAA Age Group Championships earlier this month.

The local swim club was in Victoria from March 2 to 5, with 18 swimmers.

The club came home with 15 medals in total, including six golds, seven silvers, and two bronzes.

Joshua Kim not only took gold in several events, he managed to break Langley Olympians club records in the boys 15 to 17 category 100M breaststroke and 200M breaststroke, both swims netting Kim a gold.

The Boys 12 & Under 4X200M freestyle relay team also won a silver and beat a club record.

The club scored sixth out of 42 teams at the meet overall.

• Hugh McNeil boys 12 & 13 100M backstroke (1:03.24) and 200M backstroke (2:15.22)

• Josie Field, girls 14 & 15 200M butterfly (2:16.24)

• Bailey Herbert, girls 14 & 15 200M breaststroke (2:35.59).

Hugh McNeill – boys 12 & 13, 1500M freestyle (17:14.20)

Piyush Kaul – boys 11 & Under, 200M backstroke (2:35.97)
