On a beautiful Sunday morning, the Langley Broncos atom football team looked to get back to its winning ways against the Westside Warriors.
With some great blocking from Brandon Folkerts, the Broncos took an early 14-8 lead with touchdown runs of 48 yards and 55 yards from AJ Steinmann.
Kaycen Horan and Taeo Reeves made key first half tackles to help build Langley's lead.
The Warriors recovered an onside kick early in the second half to turn the momentum in their favor. They went on to score two unanswered touchdowns to take a 20-14 lead.
The Bronco had two drives in the final minutes but couldn't get key blocks to free up the running lanes, as the Warriors won a nailbiter and handed the Broncos their third straight loss.
The Broncos, who fell to 6-3 with the loss, will wrap up their Vancouver Mainland Football League season this Sunday (Nov. 4) when they host the North Surrey Lions. Opening kickoff at McLeod Stadium is 11 a.m.
Langley Minor Football peewee Cowboys
The Cowboys travelled to White Rock on Sunday and lost 22-0 to the host Titans.
The Cowboys were missing their key runner, Jack Lauren, who was out with an arm injury suffered the previous Sunday.
All game the Titans were able to push back the combined running attack of Nico Gerussi, Thomas-Jay Fujimura, and Anthonu Ghent.
The Cowboys defence played hard throughout the game led by 12 tackles from Stryker Roloff, 10 from Liam Jeffries, six each from Tyson Bright and Tyson Tombe, and four from Wesley Begg.
