B.C.'s best in Willoughby

 

The best in provincial youth field lacrosse are gathering in Willoughby this weekend, to decide B.C. champions in three divisions.

 
 
 

The provincial field lacrosse championships are coming to Willoughby this weekend.

The 2013 Subway B.C. Lacrosse Association (BCLA) field lacrosse provincial championships are taking place in three communities (Langley, Victoria and Burnaby) over two weekends this month.

The under-19 Tier 1 and Tier 2 provincial tournament runs Friday to Sunday (Feb. 15-17) at Willoughby Community Park, next to the Langley Events Centre.

Thirteen teams from Vancouver Island, Lower Mainland, Interior and Prince George will compete for U19 supremacy on Willoughby park fields. The same weekend at Willoughby Community Park, the U12 and U15 girls provincials are take place, with 10 teams competing.

In Victoria, the Tier 1 championships will take place Feb. 16-18, 2013 at the University of Victoria. This event will host 21 youth boys' teams (U12, U14 and U16) from Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland.

The B.C. Tier 2 championships will take place the next weekend, February 22-24, at the Burnaby Lake Sports.

A total of 24 youth teams (U12, U14 and U16) from Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland, the B.C. Interior, and Prince George will compete in this event.
