The Langley Thunder has hit a speed bump in its quest for Western Lacrosse Association supremacy.

Less than a week ago, the Thunder was cruising. With four straight wins, Langley owned a 10-4 record, tops in the WLA.

Today, the Thunder, which has lost two straight, is tied with the surging Coquitlam Adanacs, each with 10-6 marks. The Adanacs have won five straight games.

The Thunder's latest setback was Saturday night at the Langley Events Centre.

The visiting Victoria Shamrocks scored the lone goal of the overtime session to win 11-10.

"Tough loss," Thunder head coach Rod Jensen said. "Anyone's confidence will be a little bit rattled but under circumstances, we're in pretty good shape. We were missing [Lewis] Ratcliff, [Garrett] Billings, [Rob] Van Beek and [John] Lintz. Take those guys out of the lineup and your going to be affected."

The 'Rocks' Corey Small scored the winner 3:38 into the extra session. The goal was Small's third of the night.

"We made one miscue and they put the ball into the net," Jensen said.

Matt Yager, Jeff Shattler, and newly acquired Derek Lowe also scored for Victoria.

The loss spoiled a four-goal outing from the Thunder's leading point-getter, Athan Iannucci.

Shayne Jackson scored twice and added three assists for Langley.

The Thunder plays its final home game of the regular season Wednesday (July 25), when it hosts the Maple Ridge Burrards at the LEC. Game time is 7:45 p.m.
