A woman who tried to hold up a Langley bank, only to panic and run before getting her hands on any money, is being sought by the RCMP.
Police are releasing photos of the woman from the attempted robbery of a Walnut Grove CIBC branch last fall.
On Oct. 28, at about 12:30 p.m., the woman walked up to a bank teller, said Cpl. Holly Marks of the Langley RCMP.
The woman claimed to have a gun and demanded cash. While the robber waited for the cash to be gathered, she became agitated, and finally left without any cash.
No gun was actually seen by any bank employee, Marks said.
A Lower Mainland Police Dog Services Team was brought int and tried to track the woman, but couldn’t pick up a trail.
The woman is described as about 45 years old, with blond hair, wearing a black toque, purple-rimmed glasses, a black sweater and black pants.
The same woman is thought to be responsible for other robberies in the Lower Mainland, Marks said.
Anyone who recognizes the woman from surveillance photos is asked to call the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.
