Josh Blanchard of the Okanagan Rockets got the nod as the B.C. Major Midget League Player of the Month.

Langley forward Josh Pollock of the Valley West Hawks was a runner up for B.C. Major Midget League Player of the Month for December.

The honour went to Josh Blanchard of the Okangan Rockets.

Blanchard finished the month with 10 goals and five assists in six games.

So far this season, he has 25 goals and 21 assists for 46 points and sits in the top five individual scoring race. The Rockets are currently in second place in the MML standings with a 20-2-4 record.

In other BCMML news, the league's all-star game is this Friday, Jan. 18 at the Langley Events Centre, with a 7 p.m. opening puck drop.

Blanchard has been selected to play for Team White at the game.

Valley West Hawks forwards Matt Cox (Team Red) and Jakob Stukel (Team White) and defenceman Ian Bennett (Team White) will play in the all-star game.

Cox and Bennett are from Surrey. Stukel is from Cloverdale.

The Hawks sit in the middle of the pack in the BCMML standings with a 12-10-6 record.

The Vancouver Northwest Giants, at 24-2-2, sit on top of the points table.
