A legendary quarterback who starred in the Canadian Football League as well as down south in the National Football League, and a top-line centre with the Vancouver Canucks are in Willoughby this weekend.
Warren Moon and Ryan Kesler are scheduled to be among the guests as the Langley Events Centre welcomes the Vancouver SportsFest, featuring the Sports and Collectibles Mega Show Friday through Sunday (Oct. 19-21).
This year will feature some new activities as well as featured autograph guests Kesler of the Canucks and Moon, a five-time Grey Cup winner and NFL Hall of Famer.
In addition to the autograph and collectible opportunities available to fans there will a SportsFest Fantasy Lounge, presented by the Brick, which will feature a place for guests to enjoy their food and sit back and watch sports during the course of the event.
Right beside the Fantasy Lounge will be the Party Works Interactive Zone featuring ways for sports fan to test their mettle at their favourite sport.
Whether it is measuring how hard their slap shots or seeing if they can toss it to the wide receiver in mid stride, the Zone will have your answer.
"We wanted to really engage the community so that when they came through the doors there was not only a chance to meet the greats and purchase great sports memorabilia, but now they can really participate, too," LEC director of business development Jared Harman noted.
The show will include 150 collectors' tables packed with sports memorabilia from all sports.
Everything from jerseys to playing cards will be available for the avid sport fan to purchase, according to the events centre.
Fans looking to purchase an autograph from Kesler or Moon can bring their own memorabilia or buy some at the event to have signed.
Admission to the event is $8.
