Two dozen Langley Olympians swimmers entered elite waters last weekend.

The Langley Olympians Swim Club (LOSC) swimmers took part in the 2012 Team Aquatic Supplies BC AAA Long Course (50-metre pool) Championships, hosted by Richmond Rapids at the Watermania pool in Richmond.

Each swimmer qualified to enter this prestigious meet by achieving BC AAA qualifying times.

From July 5-8, 42 teams from across B.C. competed in heats and finals events.

LOSC placed eighth overall with many swimmers making finals, winning medals, and setting club and meet records.

Justin Schramm, 14, broke the 14-year boys meet record in the 200-metre fly.

Schramm's time of 2: 14.44 earned him a gold medal.

Schramm also achieved gold in the 1500m freestyle, along with a silver in the 100m fly and a bronze in the 400m IM, in which he set a new club record of 4: 56.99.

Joshua Kim, 10, was also in recordbreaking form as he set four new club records in the 9-10 boys 200m freestyle (2: 32.94), 200m breaststroke (3: 10.14), 400m IM (6: 15.50) and 200m IM (2: 48.87).

Kim won silver in the 11 & under 200m fly and bronze in the 200m freestyle, 200m breaststroke, and 100m breaststroke.

Other LOSC medal winners were as follows:

Gold

Lisa Grier, 11, in the 11 & under girls 400m IM; and Renae Ledoux, 12, in the 12-year-old girls 100m and 200m breaststroke swims.

Silver

Chelsea Borrowdale, 13, in the 13-year-old girls 400m IM;

Lisa Grier in the 200m freestyle; Kelley MacDonald, 12, in the 12-year-old girls 200m breaststroke and 100m breaststroke; and

Hillary Metcalfe, 14, in the 14-year-old girls 400m IM.

Bronze

Chelsea Borrowdale in the 200m breaststroke;

Mackenzie Dong, 11, in the 11 & under 400m IM;

Jenessa Hillman, 11, in the 11 & under 800 freestyle;

Renae Ledoux in the 200m IM;

Hillary Metcalfe in the 200m breaststroke and 200m IM;

Martha Metcalfe, 16, in the 16 & over 800 freestyle; and

Robyn Nakano, 13, in the 13-year-old girls 200m fly; LOSC's 12 & under girls 800m freestyle relay team (Lisa Grier, Jenessa Hillman, Meredith Clark and Renae Ledoux) and 14 & under girls 200m medley relay team (Siobhan Board, Hillary Metcalfe, Robyn Nakano and Hannah Weinkauf).

Siobhan Board, 14, Meredith Clark, 12, Kennedy Douglas, 13, Brayden Kells, 10, Avery Martin, 11, Gabriella Szalkai, 13, and Hannah Weinkauf, 13, also made finals.

Gabriella Szalkai, Meredith Clark, Chelsea Borrowdale, Renae Ledoux and Kelley MacDonald all achieved 100 per cent best times.

LOSC head coach Brian Metcalfe praised his team: "Our swimmers raced hard against some very tough competition from throughout the province. It was great to see so many of our team making finals and getting to the podium."
