Promising to be bigger and better than last year's event, Canada Day celebrations in Fort Langley are a team effort.

The B.C. Farm Museum, Langley Centennial Museum, and Fort Langley Historic site have combined forces to bring even more festivity to the community.

Start at the fort for a Lion's Club sponsored breakfast at 8: 30 a.m., entrance to the site begins at 9 a.m., and one of the day's highlights - the citizenship ceremony - is at 10 a.m.

The neighbouring museums will offer a diverse range of action and entertainment including an arts festival featuring local crafts people and artists as well as a Langley Arts Council barbecue fundraiser in support of local arts.

Bands, clowns, singers and dignitaries round out the program, along with a strong Korean presence to mark 50 years of formal relations between Canada and Korea. Look for a Korean drum group as well as food samples at the Korean booth.

The event's kid zone brings together games, face painting, balloons, and arts and crafts.

For those seeking a more mechanical celebration of Canada's birthday, the farm museum will have numerous displays and information and watch for the Langley Speedway Historical Association, which will bring both race cars and memorabilia.
