Friday Night Hoops, which introduces girls from Grades 3-7 to basketball, is about to tip off.
Sessions are designed to produce an environment that has kids learn skills, have fun, and be competitive.
Neil Brown and Chris Veale will be the head instructors, assisted by members of the Brookswood Secondary School (BSS) girls program.
Also instructing are UBC alumni Linda and Bob Forsyth.
Graduates of the FNH's program have won 11 provincial championships in the past 10 years including three U13, two Grade 8, three junior, and three AAA championsips.
Details include: Six sessions starting Oct. 5 and ending Nov.19 (there is no session on Nov. 9).
The location is Brookswood Secondary and sessions run from 5: 30 to 7 p.m.
Cost is $60 and includes a T-shirt, 60 minutes of instruction, and 30 minutes of games.
Bring your own ball if you have one (girls' size 6). The players in Grades 3 to 5 will be separated from Grade 6s and 7s.
Advanced Grade 5 players can move up to the older age group.
Forms have been dropped off at all of BSS's feeder schools, and are also available in the main office at Brookswood Seconday.
Also, players can register on site the first night, Friday, Oct. 5 starting at 5: 30 p.m. at Brookswood Secondary.
Make cheques payable to Brookswood Secondary. Drop your payment and forms off at the office window at BSS as soon as possible, to secure a spot. Emails will remind players of their start date.
The league is limited to 35 Grade 6 and 7 players and 25 Grade 4s and 5s.
