A remarkable season has come to an end for Fort Langley's women's competitive dragon boat team, the Fast & Furious.

The local crew, made up of female paddlers in the 49plus age group, won silver at nationals, a bronze at the world championships in Hong Kong, and ended the season on a high note with this final win in Penticton.

Along the way, Fast & Furious had help from several sponsors, including companies and individuals.

"Without [their] generosity, it would have been hard to accomplish the amazing results this team has enjoyed this season," crew member Yvonne Blankstein said. "As first timers to the world championships held this July in Hong Kong, bringing home a bronze medal was a culmination of hard work, great coaching, and support from our sponsors."
