Team Canada's senior women's national basketball team is coming to the Langley Events Centre.

Canada Basketball announced an exhibition series taking place around the Lower Mainland this week, with the opening game in the LEC gymnasium tomorrow night, May 16.

Opening tip off is 7 p.m. with Canada taking on the Chinese senior women's national team (SWNT).

The game will serve as a warm up for Team Canada as the squad prepares to head to the FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament for Women June 25 to July 1 in Turkey, where it will be competing for one of the final five berths into the 2012 London Olympic Summer Games.

China's team has already qualified, having won the 2011 FIBA Asia Championships.

Canada's current ranking is 11th in the world while China sits at seventh.

Wednesday's game is being co-hosted with Basketball BC, whose offices are in the LEC, and will be the first international basketball game to be held in the LEC gymnasium, providing the community a first glance at the upcoming Olympic competition.

Ticket prices are $12 for adults, $8 for youth (six to 18 years old), and free for children under five years old.

Game two is Thursday, May 17 at the Richmond Olympic Oval and the third game is Friday, May 18 at the University of Fraser Valley.

Both games begin at 7 p.m.
