Broncos suffer first setback

On a dark and gloomy Sunday morning at Mercer Stadium in New Westminster, the Langley Broncos' hopes of a perfect season washed away.

The Broncos suffered a rain-soaked 30-8 loss to the New West Hyacks Black, who improved to 42-1 with the victory.

Langley saw its record fall to a still impressive 6-1.

The rain never stopped and the conditions seemed to be problematic for the Broncos, who had trouble handling the wet ball.

The Hyacks' offence seemed to love the sloppy weather, scoring on its first three possessions to build up a 22-0 lead.

The Broncos didn't answer until the fourth quarter when the game was all but over.
