North Langley Minor Football's atom Bears brought a team of Giants down to size last weekend.
The atom Bears shut out the Chilliwack Giants Blue 34-0.
The North Langley defence has now held its past two opponents scoreless.
The Bears' Marcus Stang scored on a 15-yard touchdown run on the opening drive.
The first major of the day was set up by some nice runs by Koan Zieger, Brian Pol, and Jordan Williams.
North Langley's defence then dominated the first half with tackles by Owen Sieben, Nickkolas and James Johnson, Manny Fotiou, and Keaghan Hurley.
Stang scored again on a 20-yard run in the second half.
Mathieu Gale then followed a great block by Shaun Brynjolfson for a 40-yard touchdown.
Jacob Deibert and Matthew Aasen recovered fumbles to give the ball back to the offence.
That led to two more scores by Callum Middleton and Jun Mclean.
Tyson Hoy booted a pair of two-point converts.
This Saturday (Oct. 20) the Bears play at home versus the undefeated Abbotsford Falcons, the only team to have beaten the Bears this year. Game time at McLeod Stadium is 10 a.m.
Peewee Bears
In their best game of the season, the Bears held the Chilliwack Giants to a single touchdown until the final four minutes of the game, before falling 18-0.
Leading the defence in the tackling department was Brandon Brynjolfson along with Trevor Paulenz, Cadryrn Barthelson, Nick Triemstra, Dakota Jenkins, and Jake Schmidt
North Langley's offence had a couple of long drives but could not finish with a touchdown.
Brynjolfson made a trio of great runs, and Paulenz caught a pair of passes for 35-yard gains.
Junior bantam Bears
The JB Bears' offence proved too much for the Chilliwack Giants as the visitors triumphed 49-8 on a rainy Saturday night at Townsend Park in Chilliwack.
Zander Baily ran for two touchdowns and added a third major on a pass from Brett Christensen.
Pablo Wigwigan had several long gains and scored three touchdowns on the ground.
The Bears' other major came from quarterback Brett Christiansen, who ran the ball in from the one-yard line.
Alexander Henderson recovered a fumble for the Bears, while Kyle Webster blocked a punt and booted three converts.
Bantam Bears
The Bears' running game was firing on all cylinders against the Meadow Ridge Knights on Saturday.
Colton Pierce and Brandon Sang dominated on the ground while Max Joseph scored on a 20 yard run.
The Bears' defence held the Knights to a single point in the first half but the Knights broke through on long runs for touchdowns on two occasions in the second half.
Midget Bears
North Langley's midget team travelled to Vancouver Island on Sunday to play the Cowichan Bulldogs.
The Bears could not make much headway against a solid Bulldogs' defence and went down 46-0 despite determined efforts by linemen Akash Verma, Alec Robertson, and Marcel Mirek to stymie the Bulldogs' running game.
Late in the game, the Bears' Garrett Fredley and David Fredo recovered fumbles, but North Langley was unable to capitalize.
