The website is dedicated to providing information about schools that excel in engaging students, providing quality teaching, operating a vibrant campus community, and creating successful graduates. In order to qualify, TWU was evaluated in these four areas.

"Schools selected as Colleges of Distinction create well-rounded graduates and are among the very best in the country," Reported Tyson Schritter, the executive editor of the website. "While each school is one-of-a-kind, they all share a common theme: they are all a great place to get an education."

The goal of the Colleges of Distinction site is to provide students, counselors, and parents with information about schools that excel in areas that matter.

In addition to being placed on the site, TWU is also a member of the elite Royal Society of Canada, the oldest and most distinguished association of scientists and scholars in Canada.
