I don't know Pierre St. Pierre or Dave and Kim McFadden, but if i ever meet them on the streets of Fort Langley, I will give them two thumbs up or maybe even a hug. They both recently submitted letters about the inappropriateness of a three storey Coulter Berry development on the corner of Glover Road and Mavis Street in Fort Langley.
I am hoping the planning commission of the Township realizes the value in keeping Fort Langley small and quaint.
Big, bold, and brassy is easy to find; small and quaint is not. That is the beauty of Fort Langley, its quaintness. If people are looking for big and impressive, go to Vancouver.
There is a flyer circulating around Fort Langley promoting this building.
Why? If this building was as good as advertised, why does it need to be sold to the citizens of the Fort?
Part of the propaganda of the flyer states that businesses are dying to come here - but has anyone noticed that there are two empty store fronts on Glover Road? Maybe those businesses that can't wait to come here could rent one of those, instead of building a whole new building.
And the 67 new parking spots advertised - who are they for? Are they for the people inside the new building, or will it help solve the parking issues for the tourists when they arrive?
Has anyone else noticed that the person promoting the development and the change in building height restrictions also sits on the Heritage Commission?
