1925 – 2017
Roy Frederick Seifred was born on January 19, 1925, and passed away peacefully to be with our Lord on January 11, 2017 at the age of 91 at Langley Memorial Hospital. He was a kind and generous man with a big heart who walked his Faith. Roy is survived by his loving wife Grace, of 67 years. Roy was the proud father of 4 children, Kenneth Wayne Seifred, Barbara Grace Sward (Ken), Daryl Richard Seifred and Donna Marie Arnold (Tim). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Roy was a long time pioneer resident of Langley where he and Grace built their own house in 1961, and they proudly lived there for the duration of his life. Roy worked as a tinsmith for Gandy Installations in Langley and finished his career with R.E. MacDonald Stoves & Stones Ltd, in Aldergrove. Roy was a proud man, looking after his many exotic birds, milking his cow, or working in the garden and keeping his yard looking flawless. He also took the time to talk to his grandchildren and give them long lasting fond memories of their “Papa“. Even with the challenges of old age, Roy was a powerful teacher in treating all with respect, without complaint and always, no matter how he felt, greeting family, friends and caregivers with a radiant and irresistible smile. Our lives and all of those whom Roy touched have been enriched by this great man. He was a wonderful dad and he will be forever in our hearts. The family would like to thank the staff from Home Health and Bayshore Home Support for their professionalism and efforts over the past several years to support Roy’s wishes to remain at home. The family would also like to extend thanks to the Langley Adult Day Care Program and their staff for support and care. In addition to, the professionalism and compassion shown from the staff at Langley Memorial Hospital is recognized. A special appreciation goes out to Dr. Cilliers and Dr. Morgan. There will be a celebration of Roy’s life in the Christian Life Assembly, West Chapel, 21277 56 Avenue, February 18, 2017 from 1 pm to 3 pm.
