The death of a man who plunged 80 feet while trimming tree branches Thursday is being investigated by WorkSafe BC.

WorkSafe and the BC Coroner’s Service were both called out to a central Langley acreage Thursday evening to look into the causes of the fatal accident.

According to Donna Freeman of WorkSafe, the man was de-limbing a tree from a boom lift.

He was about 80 feet in the air when the lift broke and the man fell to the ground.

WorkSafe’s information about the incident is preliminary, Freeman noted. What caused the accident is still not known.

The man apparently worked for a small local tree trimming service.
