The dog days of summer are at our feet. Most folks are finally starting to relax through sunny days and slow nights, hanging around with family and friends.
The Christmas at the Clarke benefit concert is at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Clarke Foundation Theatre (33700 Prentis Ave., Mission) with Kenny Hess, Four Real, Debbie Bergeron, Topaz, Jennie Bice, Rob Hess and Kristal Barret, plus an auction and raffle, for the food bank and the FV Women's Resource Society. It's summer, and Abbotsford's entertainment harvest is coming to a peak. The best place to see the bounty of local talent is the Abbotsford Agrifair, a showcase and tribute to agriculture that is on this long weekend until Monday.
The 99th annual edition of Abbotsford Agrifair is ready to roll this Thursday at Abbotsford Exhibition Park.
The headliners of the sold-out Santa Fox Ball II at the Commodore Dec. 17 are Matt Mays & El Torpedo and Daniel Wesley. Who? Matt Mays plays cod-and-chips rock (he's from the East Coast). Wesley is a Langley-ite who was one of the top five finalists in last year's Fox Seeds contest. Apparently, he also had the most requested song in Vancouver last year with a reggae-modern-rock hybrid "Ooo Ohh," this year's equivalent of Daniel Powter's "Bad Day."
