Pennies remain legal tender and anyone happy to see them gone may want to consider donating them to a community cause.

Kids Can Help has its coin drive going and will gladly take any pennies.

"Even though they are not important anymore, every penny would be really important to us," said Sean Thomas, the Langley boy who started the fundraising group.

Kids Can Help raises money for BC Children's Hospital and is made up of local young people.

"The team is really excited about our upcoming fundraisers. So far, we have raised $7,603.05," he said. "Our goal is $20,000 before June."

The group is doing almond sales, bracelet sales and other events to raise the money.

Anyone wanting to help or find out more about the group can contact Sean at kidscanhelpkids@gmail. com or 604-833-8772.
