A white mountain bike owned by an Aldergrove stabbing victim is now the target of a search by Langley RCMP.

Just after 1 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 13, police arrived in the 27000 block of Fraser Highway to find a man who had just been stabbed.

The 55-year-old victim was airlifted to hospital and remains there, with serious, life-threatening injuries, said Const. Craig van Herk of the Langley RCMP.

Langley Serious Crime is trying to determine the motive and to find a suspect or suspects in the attack.

The victim, a local man, frequently rode around Aldergrove on a white mountain bike. Police were familiar with him from speaking to him as he passed through the community, but there is no evidence that he was involved with organized crime, van Herk said.

Now police are hoping that sightings of the bike may help them with their investigation. The bike has not been found since the attack.

Anyone who saw anyone riding a white mountain bike, likely with a front suspension, in the Aldergrove area on the weekend is being asked to call the RCMP.

Anyone with any other information on the stabbing is also being asked to call the police.

The Langley RCMP can be reached at 604-532-3200, or to remain anonymous, call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

Tipsters can also text in their info by sending BCTIP and their message to CRIMES (274637).
