A suspected armed robber with a penchant for wigs and disguises is wanted for a number of bank holdups in Langley, Surrey, Burnaby, and Vancouver.
The Surrey RCMP are looking for Robert John Paton, wanted on four warrants for robbery from Vancouver, and a suspect in hold ups in Surrey, Burnaby, and Langley.
“Although no one was injured during this recent robbery series, this individual is still considered dangerous due to his level of desperation,” said Surrey RCMP Cpl. Bert Paquet. “We do not expect him to stop committing these crimes.”
Paton has been known to threaten bank employees, said Paquet.
He is also fond of disguising himself with wigs and glasses during his robberies, police said.
The suspect is 32, Caucasian, stands 6’0” and weighs about 200 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes, and is believed to be living in the City Centre area of Surrey.
Police are advising the public not to contact or attempt to approach Paton.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts should call the Surrey RCMP Robbery Section at 604-599-0502 or, to remain anonymous, call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
