MAY 2012: Teresa Sperger and her family were overcome with emotion after they saw their newly renovated home. The family were the 2012 recipients of the Aldergrove Adventist Church's Acts of Kindness Extreme Home Repair. Over 10 days, culminating with a Victoria Day reveal, Aldergrove Adventist Church's AOK team repaired and renovated the 2,200-square-foot two-storey Aldergrove house Teresa and her family have lived in for the past 13 years.

MARCH 2012: Terry Fox Ravens Daniel Collins and Dalton Dewsbury ran past Walnut Grove Gator De'Sean Monsanto, as they joined their jubilant teammates in celebration of the Ravens' dramatic 75-74 win over the Gators in the title game of the B.C. Triple A boys basketball championships at the Langley Events Centre.
MAY 2012: Dancer Lauren Tokiwa won the 2012 Langley Has Talent competition. During the contest finals at Christian Life Assembly, she wowed judges and audience members with her energetic performance to the song Drive All Night by Need to Breathe.
OCTOBER 2012: Westshore Rebels player Justin Perrie tossed an agility pad during arguments and a scuffle after the Langley Rams won 33-0 in a B.C. Football Conference semifinal game at McLeod Athletic Park.
MAY 2012: More than 2,100 walkers turned out for the 50th edition of the Langley Walk. It was the biggest crowd in years for the event.
APRIL 2012: Kylie Kamiya of the Yellow Stingers kept her eye on the ball just before she whacked it off the tee during Langley Fastball Association's 36th annual season-opening tournament at Noel Booth Park.
AUGUST 2012: Langley RCMP and members of the Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team worked together while responding to the call of a suspect with a firearm. A 33-year-old Langley man was taken into custody at an apartment on Eastleigh Crescent across from the Timms Community Centre.
JANUARY 2012: Police officers cordoned off Langley Secondary while more Mounties searched for a handgun. No weapon was found. An anonymous report of a gun led to a lockdown of the school. Police weren't certain whether the call was a false report or a mistake by the caller. During the incident, students were kept in classrooms while police tried to reassure parents during the second lockdown in three months.
MAY 2012: Walnut Grove Secondary athlete Brandon Drake cleared the bar in the senior boys pole vault event, part of the Fraser Valley high school track and field championships at McLeod Athletic Park.
JUNE 2012: Police blocked off Glover Road to investigate a double murder in a rural farmhouse. One man, 27-year-old Gordon Spencer, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other victim, 25-year-old Bruce Mayo, died in hospital. Neither victim lived at the home.
SEPTEMBER 2012: A bird's-eye view saw the downtown hopping when the Langley Good Times Cruise-In roared into town. Fraser Highway, Douglas Crescent, and the area around Innes Corners were busy as tens of thousands of people strolled back and forth, checking out the classic and specialized cars that lined the roads.
JANUARY 2012: Liam Dickinson, 10, took flight before sliding down a hill beside the Walnut Grove Community Centre. Langley was hit with a blast of snow early in the new year.
MARCH 2012: Teachers showed their solidarity at the Langley Events Centre. The group marched around the events centre to Fort Langley-Aldergrove MLA Rich Coleman's office, where they attached wreaths to his door, to protest against his government's decision to legislate teachers back to work.
JUNE 2012: Scott Fattedad (No. 463) was the leader of the pack during his race, part of a Special Olympics BC regional track and field qualifier at McLeod Athletic Park.
SEPTEMBER 2012: Not everyone was a fan of Sizzle, who was one of the special guests at the Langley City Terry Fox Run. Jack Warren, 20 months, wanted nothing to do with the furry Scotiabank mascot. Overall, the event drew 292 registered participants who helped raise $8,000 for cancer research. Runners in Walnut Grove raised another $6,000.
SEPTEMBER 2012: Jerry Miskenack, from Quesnel, carried the Canadian flag at the Grand Entry of Kwantlen First Nation's second annual powwow, held over three days on Kwantlen land in Fort Langley.
