METRO VANCOUVER -- A 28-year-old man is in hospital and a 21-year-old woman under arrest after a domestic dispute escalated to a public stabbing on Monday afternoon.

The attack took place around 3:25 p.m. on the sidewalk of Glover Road between Eastleigh Crescent and Logan Avenue.

Police received reports about the fight and arrived in time to find both man and woman still there.

“It’s believed the female stabbed the male,” said Cpl. Holly Marks, spokesperson for the Langley RCMP.

The woman was arrested and the man taken to hospital.

The woman is now facing a possible charge of assault with a weapon. The man’s injuries are not considered life-threatening, Marks said.

Police blocked off one lane of traffic for more than an hour after the initial incident to gather evidence. Eastbound traffic had to divert south to 56th Avenue.
