Dear Editor,
Jack McEwen [Women deserve their choices, Oct. 25 Letters, Langley Advance] bemoans the fact that Dean Clark [Life not protected in Canada, Oct. 16 Letters, Langley Advance] is one of many who continue to speak out against abortion. He posits that women should have the right to choose what happens in their bodies, and thus reckons abortion is a legitimate medical procedure for a woman to undertake.
This way of thinking is that it fails to recognize the massive human rights violation that it supports. Science has shown that the child in the womb is human. It is not a simple matter of women's health, but of whether we value the lives of some humans more than others?
I stand on the side of life, and applaud those who continue to do the same.
Jason Vander Horst, Langley
